Account Settings

To configure your accounts, navigate to the administration menu in the top right corner menu in the user interface and select accounts. Click on the account you would like to manage.

Account settings can be accessed through the account menu option. You can also access other features such as any scheduled reports and cloud data connections since they are configured at the account level.

Changing account timezone, region and currency

To change any of the settings that are part of the account settings, navigate to the account by clicking to the administration menu in the top right corner menu in the user interface and select accounts.

Click on the account you would like to manage and select the account menu option.

The account settings are important to configure correctly since they control how data is displayed, when schedules get executed and many other tasks that depend on knowing your location and country.

Select the region that most closely matches your location. The region will be used to format numbers, dates and other items in the user interface according to your local preferences.

The time zone is used when performing date calculations and to ensure that date boundaries are set correctly. Dates are stored as UTF epoch timestamps in Rational BI’s SQLite databases, and having the time zone set correctly will ensure that the UTF timestamps are correctly translated to local time.

Time zone information is also used to determine the times to send scheduled reports from the account. For example, if a report is set to run at 8 am, it will run at 8 am in the time zone of the account.

The currency setting will be used to supply default formatting for currencies in reports. You can override currency and other formatting in the report configuration.
